Second Round Interview- What can I expect?

I have a second round interview for an internship position at an Internet Marketing agency.
I was specifically told to prepare questions. I am really nervous this is my first round of interviews (I’ve just graduated). What sort of questions do they expect from me and what is the second interview process like? How does is differ from the initial interview?

Your help is greatly appreciated

First, relax — they like you!

There’s no formula for first interview, second, third, etc. But here are some insights. First, often the first interview is with a “gatekeeper” — perhaps an HR person, rather than the manager you would report to. In which case, a second interview might consist of more pointed questions about whether you can truly do the job, asked by someone who better understands it.

Or, perhaps the first interview was the “can you do the job” interview, and this is the “will you fit in well with the company culture?” interview. A third possibility is that this second interview is where they drill in deeper, and perhaps explore any areas in which they aren’t sure you have the right depth of qualifications. If any of these sound likely, based on the first interview, prepare accordingly.

The fact that they told you to prepare questions is a good clue for what to focus on. Here are a few ideas: 1. Do some homework. Have they been mentioned in local media lately? 2. Ask questions that put you on their team, producing results — “in this position, how will I impact the company’s success?” 3. Ask questions that show that you are listening & processing information on the fly. 4. If you meet with several people, ask them each all of your questions. Never say “all of my question shave been answered.” 5. At the end of the interview, even if you have been asking great questions all along, they will probably ask “do you have any questions for us?” — make sure you have a few good ones left!

Good luck. Relax (not too much though!) and be yourself.
